The Falcons re-signed backup quarterback Matt Simms, who was on the practice squad the past two seasons, and released former University of Georgia track star Garrett Scantling on Monday.

Scantling, a three-time SEC Indoor Heptathlon champion (2013, 2015 & 2016), hadn't played football since high school.
