The Falcons signed linebacker Darin Drakeford on Saturday to add depth to the position. The team was looking for a linebacker after rookie Marquis Spruill suffered a season-ending knee injury during practice on Wednesday.

Drakeford signed with the Chiefs last season after he wasn’t drafted out of Maryland. Last season he spent time on the practice squad with the Chiefs, Giants and Colts.

The Falcons waived rookie kicker Sergio Castillo.
