After rookie minicamp, the Falcons elected to sign former University of Georgia wide receiver Reggie Davis and defensive lineman Taniela Tupou to the 90-man roster.
Davis and Tupou were on tryouts with the Falcons.
Unfortunately, Davis is best known for dropping a potential game-tying touchdown against Tennessee in 2015. Davis, who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds, caught 38 passes for 618 yards and two touchdowns over his career.
Davis is also a kickoff and punt returner. The Falcons have an opening after not re-signing Eric Weems, who signed with Tennessee in free agency. Davis averaged 21.2 yards on 47 career kickoff returns and 7.4 yards on 34 punt returns and had one touchdown.
Veteran Andre Roberts, Devin Fuller, Justin Hardy and Davis are the top contenders for the vacancy.
Tupou, who’s 6-foot-2 and 248 pounds and played at University of Washington, was signed by Seattle after the 2016 draft. He played in one game for the Seahawks last year.
