For Falcons coach Dan Quinn the depth chart is a living and breathing document.
It’s fluid and as the Czar of football he can make changes and revise later. In the mean time, we’ll revise the chart for him accordingly.
For instance, Courtney Upshaw is listed as an end, but played both tackle and end against the Chicago Bears. Quinn told us that was coming after Ra'Shede Hageman was released.
The depth chart below reflects that change.
The Falcons opened in the base defense and although Vic Beasley is listed at one of the starting linebackers, the Falcons started De’Vondre Campbell at strong side. Deion Jones started at middle linebacker and Duke Riley, who’s listed second behind Campbell, started at the weak side spot.
