The Falcons released backup cornerback C.J. Goodwin and signed cornerback Deja Olatoye on Thursday, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said.

Goodwin didn’t play well when he replaced Desmond Trufant against in the 34-20 win over Tampa Bay on Nov. 26.

He played 47 snaps and was repeatedly beaten in coverage. The following week, he was replaced against Minnesota as Blidi Wreh-Wilson started at left cornerback and held his own.

Olatoye was with the team earlier in the season, but was most recently cut from Tampa Bay after playing in three games.

Olatoye played in five games last season for the Falcons, recording four tackles (three solo) with three passes defensed.
