Coach Mike Smith is looking forward to ramping things up as the Falcons are set to practice against the Houston Texans two times this week before facing them at 8 p.m. Saturday at NRG Stadium.

The Falcons have an afternoon practice on Monday and morning one on Tuesday before heading to Houston. The will practice against the Texans at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

“I’m looking forward to getting on to the Houston Texans,” Smith said. “We have a combined practice with those folks before we play them, so we’re going to get a lot of good work against another good football team.”

The Falcons held a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans last Monday in Flowery Branch.

Both teams are trying to rebound from disappointing seasons.

The Falcons won their exhibition season opener 16-10 over Miami.The Texans, under first-year coach Bill O’Brien, were pummeled 32-0 by Arizona.
