Coach Dan Quinn was optimistic Friday about members of the Falcons’ roster who suffered injuries over the past few weeks.

Linebacker Justin Durant was out for the Falcons’ game against the Saints Thursday with an elbow injury.

Quinn said Friday that coaches hoped Durant would be able to practice some this week.

Quinn said he was hopeful that Person, who was injured at center against the Redskins Sunday, would be back and ready to play next Sunday against the Titans.

“He’s already back doing stuff so we’re hoping he could get a good bit of work in this week,” Quinn said. “We’ll make a decision at the end of the week.”

Julio Jones, who has been nursing a hamstring injury, played against the Saints Thursday racking up six receptions for 93 yards.

Quinn said Friday that he hoped the Falcons’ “mini bye” week before they play the Titans next Sunday will give Jones enough time to rest before the team goes out on the road again.

Quinn said at this point in the season, it’s nice for all players to have a few extra days to recuperate from the first few games.

“Everybody’s dealing with something at this point in the year as a player, so how much time and the rest to recover we can get back and be at our best again,” Quinn said. “That’s how we’ll approach it, three days as a bye to get their bodies back and ready again.”
