The Falcons may not get wide receiver Julio Jones and safety William Moore on the practice field this week but coach Mike Smith said that wouldn’t necessarily preclude them from playing on Sunday against the Steelers.

“Both of those guys are guys that don’t need to go out and practice,” Smith said Wednesday. “If they are ready to go at 1 o’clock on Sunday, both of those guys will be out there.”

Jones (hip) and Moore (foot) left the Falcons’ 43-37 loss at Green Bay on Sunday and did not return. Both players were walking under their own power in the locker room on Wednesday.

Jones leads the NFL in receiving yards (1,428) after settting career highs in yards in consecutive games. Jones also leads the league with 27 receptions of 20 yards or longer.

The Falcons did not have a full practice on Wednesday but per NFL rules were required to report if injured players would have been able to practice. Jones, Moore and cornerback Robert Alford (wrist) were listed as out.

Alford has missed the past three games because of a wrist fracture.
