Before the open OTA on Thursday, the Falcons hosted a coaching clinic for about 200 high school coaches from across Georgia.

Quinn, defensive line coach Jess Simpson and offensive line coach Chris Morgan held sessions.

Also, general manager Thomas Dimitroff and Steve Sabo also talked to the group. Sabo recently was promoted to director of player personnel and is second in command in the scouting department.

“What a great (reputation) the state has for high school football,” Quinn said. “It’s all of our jobs to keep pushing forward to see where we can take it to.”

When Quinn was an assistant coach at Florida, he recruited parts of Georgia.

“My first experience of seeing high school football from the coaching side in Georgia was on the college recruiting side and coming here and leaving a practice and going, ‘that’s the best high school practice that I’ve ever seen,’ “ Quinn said. “That kind of coaching carries over.”
