Falcons guard Chris Chester returns to practice

June 14, 2016

Falcons starting right guard Chris Chester, who had offseason shoulder surgery, returned to practice during the first day of the team’s mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

Chester, 33, who started all 16 games and played 1,140 offensive snaps (100 percent) last season, lined up at right guard with the third-team offense.

Mike Person, who played 952 offensive snaps (83.5 percent) last season, at center is playing right guard and figures to compete with Chester for the top spot.

Also, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (tendinitis knee) returned to practice.

Both Jarrett and Chester missed the open OTA sessions over the past three weeks.

Returner Devin Hester (foot) and center James Stone (knee) did not participate in the minicamp practice.
