Falcons convert in a short-yardage situation

Aug 28, 2014

The Falcons wanted to evaluate the offensive line in a short-yardage situation in the final exhibition game.

On their third possession of the game against the Jaguars on Thursday at EverBank Field, the Falcons had a third-and-1 and running back Devonta Freeman powered behind the left side of the line for a touchdown run.

Much to Smith’s dismay, the Falcons were stuffed in a short-yardage situation last week against Tennessee.

The Falcons have made a point of wanting to run the ball effectively when teams know they are going to run the ball.
