A few hours before the start of the NFL draft, Falcons coach Dan Quinn is “locked in” his draft room for the night.

The team tweeted a picture of the coach in front of three televisions, with a Falcons helmet on his desk off to his left.

He has a notebook, cup, phone and two laptops on his desks.

Leading to the draft, Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff met virtually with coach Dan Quinn each morning from about 8 a.m. to noon to watch video on Zoom and discuss the draft board.

Quinn and Dimitroff are at their homes for  the virtual draft, set for today through Saturday.

The Falcons usually have a mass gathering of 40 to 50 people in their draft room in Flowery Branch.

Instead of being connected with 50 people, Dimitroff said five or six people, including owner Arthur Blank, will be in the inner loop.

Dimitroff is preparing to run the draft in the war room off his kitchen with a bank of three televisions.

“We are using baseline technology,” Dimitroff said. “We are trying not to go overboard on this. We have the capacity to do that, and ability to do that, but we are trying to make it as simple as possible so if something does go down, it’s going to be a relatively easy fix.
