Falcons safety Jamal Carter, for a play that was pointed out in this week's Film Review Report Card, received the NFL's Way to Play away for this week.

On Kenjon Barner’s 78-yard punt return for a touchdown, Carter worked his way back into the play and blocked Carolina’s Jordan Scarlett with a new-age NFL block. In the old days, Scarlett would have been blasted.

This was noted on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" show. The league is trying to promote safer plays and eliminate blindside blocks.

Crawford will receive receive a $2,500 equipment grant through USA Football to be awarded to the local youth or high school football program of the player's choice.

The NFL Football operations and officiating departments will select the top nominees for the award recognizing current NFL players. Video of those plays will then be sent to an expert panel consisting of Merril Hoge, Ronnie Lott, Willie McGinest, Orlando Pace and Michael Robinson.
