Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, a possible target for the Falcons, who hold the 14th pick in the draft, suffered a left quad injury Sunday at the NFL scouting combine.

Lawrence had an ice pack wrapped around his left quad after running the 40-yard dash.

NFL Network later reported that Lawrence suffered a minor quad strain and that he should be ready for Clemson’s Pro Day on March 14.

Lawrence ran the 40-yard dash in 5.05 seconds, which was excellent for his size (6-foot-4 and 342 pounds.) He led all defensive linemen with 36 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press.

“Dexter Lawrence, if it was 10 years ago, we’d all say he was for sure the best of the bunch,” NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said. “He’s going to dominate against the run.”
