Falcons coach Dan Quinn said the team is monitoring defensive lineman Chris Long’s situation. He was in for a visit with the team and left Thursday night.

“The visit went well,” Quinn said, who said he envisioned Long playing defensive end and nickel defensive tackle.

He said Long wanted to return home quickly because his wife recently gave birth to a baby boy.

“We’ve been in contact with his agent, but nothing has been agreed upon,” Quinn said. “He’s taking a couple of other trips.”

Long recently was released by the St. Louis Rams. He had 54.5 career sacks.
