Even the added weight of pads hasn’t slowed Kroy Biermann.

The hybrid defensive end is showing positive signs in his return from a torn Achilles tendon that ended his 2013 season in Week 2. The Falcons began padded training camp practices last week.

“The thing I’ve really noticed in the last couple of days is he has a lot of burst back,” Falcons outside linebackers coach Mark Collins said. “To me, it’s kind of like the old Kroy is back. He looks comfortable, pushing well off that foot. That has been encouraging the last couple of days. He’s been a little bit more explosive off the football.”
