EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – With the Falcons ahead 10-3, they had a breakdown in the secondary that led to a 67-yard touchdown catch-and-run by Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on Sunday.

Falcons cornerback Robert Alford had Beckham, who ran a slant. He caught the pass and when Allen missed the tackle, Beckham Jr. raced in for the touchdown.

Beckham was targeted eight times and caught five passes for 44 yards in the Giants’ 27-26 loss to Dallas last Sunday.

The Falcons didn’t match cornerback Desmond Trufant on Beckham for most of the first half.

Alford had a rough time against Giants quarterback Eli Manning last season. He was called for four penalties, but two were declined. He later broke up a deep pass intended for Beckham and Manning gave him plenty of business in the first half.

Allen, a converted cornerback, was the star of the win over the Eagles. He made a game saving interception and his tackling was solid.
