Falcons safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen were both fined $28,075 for unnecessary roughness hits in the 28-12 loss to the Vikings by the league office.

Vikings safety Harrison Smith, who had an apparent hit on wide receiver Russell Gage that knocked him out of the game with a concussion, was not fined.

Allen’s fine was for lowering his helmet for a hit on Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs.

Neal was also fined $28,075 for an unnecessary roughness penalty during the Aug. 22 exhibition game against the Redskins, for a hit on  tight end Jordan Reed.
