FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons cornerback Robert Alford is being moved to nickel back over the offseason.
Falcons coach Dan Quinn discussed the move at the owner’s meeting recently.
Alford has played outside for most of his career since being drafted in the second-round of the 2013 draft.
“I’m good with it,” Alford said. “Whatever it takes for this to win, I’m willing to do it.”
Alford has played in 41 NFL games and made 29 starts. He has seven interceptions and 33 pass breakups.
The Falcons consider the nickel back — fifth defensive back — as a starter since they played more than 60 percent of that scheme last season.
