With defensive tackle Dontari Poe hitting the free agency market, the only experienced player at that position the Falcons have locked for 2018 is Grady Jarrett. The Falcons could get added depth at that position through the draft or through free agency. If they take the latter route, NFL.com's  Gregg Rosenthal believes Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson would be a good fit for the Falcons' defense.

Richardson joined the Seahawks this season after being traded by the New York Jets. He recorded 44 tackles, one interception and two forced fumbles in 2017.

“General manager Thomas Dimitroff's unquenchable desire to load up his defensive line and take big swings in personnel should make Richardson an attractive prospect,”

Amid rumors the Seahawks were attempting to franchise tag Richardson, the team opted to not go that route on Thursday.

The Falcons have around $12 million in available cap space this offseason, but are expected to create more with player releases in the near future.
