Dwight Howard has officially signed with the Washington Wizards and will playing for his fourth team in four years.

The Wizards announced Howard's signing Thursday afternoon with a photo of Howard writing, "Welcome to the #DCFamily."

Howard, from Atlanta, played in 81 games with the Charlotte Hornets last season, averaging 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Before his season in Charlotte, Howard played with the Houston Rockets from 2013-2016 and then with the Hawks in the 2016-2017 season.

Overall, Howard has played for five teams in his 14-year NBA career.

Howard was briefly with the Brooklyn Nets franchise after being traded by the Hornets on July 6 in exchange for Timofey Mozgov, the draft rights to Hamidou Daiallo, a 2021 second-round draft pick and cash considerations. Howard was waived almost immediately after being signed by the Nets in hopes of becoming a free agent.

Howard’s deal is expected to be a two-year, $11 million deal with a player option, according to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on July 6.
