Atlanta Dream guard Tiffany Hayes was named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for her performance from July 16-22.

The recognition, Hayes’ second of the season, resulted from the 5-foot-10 guard averaging 18 points— second in the Eastern Conference— 4.7 rebounds and three assists over the past week.

Hayes’ shining moment of last week was Tuesday when she hit a game-winning, buzzer-beater to defeat the Connecticut Sun, 86-83. Hayes scored 18 total points in the win over the Suns, then went on to score 20 against the New York Liberty and 16 in Sunday’s win over the Seattle Storm.

The Dream went 3-0 over the past week, extending the team's win streak to a franchise-record seven games.

Along with Hayes, Dallas Wings center Liz Cambage was named Western Conference Player of the Week.

Healthcare at College Park, a nursing home in Fulton County, GA, stands shuttered with its door chained on July 26, 2025, having closed in recent months. Researchers at Brown University developed a list of U.S. nursing homes they predicted were at risk of closing based on 2023 data, and would be at elevated risk of closing due to the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act's cuts to Medicaid. Healthcare at College Park was on their list. It survived past its last federal inspection in August of 2024 but has now closed down. The bill's biggest provisions will roll out over years starting Jan. 1. (Ariel Hart/AJC)
