Angel McCoughtry of the Atlanta Dream was named to the WNBA's All-Rookie team on Thursday.

McCoughtry, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 draft, led all rookies in points (12.8) and steals (2.2) and was fifth in assists (2.1). McCoughtry’s 2.2 steals per game led the Dream and was among the top five in the league.

McCoughtry also won consecutive Rookie of the Month honors in July and August.

The voting panel consisted of the WNBA’s 13 coaches, who were asked to select five players regardless of position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players on their own team.
