Valdosta State clinched at least a share of the Gulf South Conference football title with a 26-21 victory over West Florida Saturday in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Valdosta (9-0, 7-0 GSC) ran its conference winning streak to a record 24 games, besting the previous mark held by North Alabama set in 1994-95. The Blazers also won their 13th straight home and 20th straight regular-season game.

No. 1 Valdosta dominated the first half, leading 20-0, but needed to hold back a rally from No. 20 West Florida for the win.

Quarterback Rogan Wells went 26-for-36 for 350 yards and a touchdown. Jamar Thompkins rushed for 79 yards and Seth McGill rushed for 56 yards and two touchdowns of two and four yards.
