University of Georgia sophomore tailback Isaiah Crowell has been dismissed from the football team, head coach Mark Richt announced Friday.

Crowell was arrested early Friday morning and taken to Athens-Clarke County Jail on three weapons charges, two of them felonies. His bond, originally set at $7,500, was raised to $9,500 late Friday morning. He was released Friday afternoon, according to booking records.

Crowell started seven games in 2011 and rushed for 850 yards on 185 carries.

The Bulldogs, however, are moving on without him.

"We have a dedicated and committed group of men who are working hard to prepare for the coming season," Richt said. "Our total focus will be directed toward the team and this effort."
