Georgia Tech's seats for the Orange Bowl are located in the lower- and upper-bowls of Land Shark Stadium, and extend from the 40-yard line around to the end zones, according to Orange Bowl committee member Doug Wiley.
Tech has 17,500 tickets in its allotment. They can be purchased at ramblinwreck.com/bowl.
Wiley said there are several activities for fans of the Yellow Jackets and Iowa, Tech's opponent in the Jan. 5 bowl.
There will be a fanfest at Bayfront Park from 2-7 p.m. on Jan. 4. Additionally, there will be a game day tailgate tent that will open at 11 a.m. at the stadium.
Players will have several activities the week before the game. The team will arrive on Dec. 30 and there will be a welcome party at the hotel. A beach party will be held at the hotel on Dec. 31. After a press conference for a few of Tech's offensive players on Jan. 1 at Harbor Beach, there will be a dinner for both teams at Fogo de Chao, one in a chain of Brazilian steakhouses.
Another press conference, this time for defensive players and coaches, will be held on Jan. 2, also at Harbor Beach.
The team will practice Dec. 31-Jan. 3.
Wiley was in Atlanta to speak to various media outlets about the Orange Bowl. He joked that bowl officials expect a very quick game, considering both teams' propensity for running the ball. He also said that considering Tech's offense is No. 11 in the NCAA (443 yards per game) and Iowa's defense is also No. 11 (287 yards per game), "it will be very interesting to see how the two forces reach to each other."
