Jackson State added to its lead with a third-quarter touchdown grab by Warren Newman in Sunday’s MEAC/SWAC Challenge at Georgia State Stadium.

Joining the end zone pile-on was the Tiger’s mascot, who streaked in from the sidelines and in celebration tried to remove a Bethune-Cookman defender off Newman.

Officials joined the melee and brought out the confetti — a yellow-penalty flag — targeting the mascot with an unsportsmanlike infraction.

The 15-yard penalty was assessed on the kickoff.

The Wildcats rallied to defeat the Tigers, 36-15.
