Georgia Tech’s “Above the Line” chart for the North Carolina game is without three players who have started for the Yellow Jackets this season – wide receiver Jalen Camp, center Kenny Cooper and quarterback Lucas Johnson. The chart was released Thursday.

Camp and Cooper’s being taken off the list of players deemed ready to contribute were expected, as both suffered season-ending injuries in Tech’s loss to Temple on Saturday. Johnson’s absence is an apparent indication that he will not be available because of the upper-body injury that he suffered against The Citadel and that kept him out of Saturday’s game.

It is a picture of the significant bite that injuries have taken out of Tech’s offense this season. On a team already light on seniors, three who have started games – Camp, Cooper and offensive tackle Jahaziel Lee – have been lost for the season.

For the first time, freshman quarterback Jordan Yates has been elevated onto the chart, along with James Graham and Tobias Oliver. It’s conceivable that Yates could make his career debut against the Tar Heels. The timing would be auspicious – Yates’ uncle is former UNC great T.J. Yates, whom Jordan idolized growing up.

The only other change was the subtraction of freshman wide receiver Nazir Burnett, who played in his second game of the season against the Owls.
