Krysten Hammon’s time as a running back at Georgia State is over once again.

Less than a week after he was allowed to come back to the team, he was dismissed sometime between Friday’s and Saturday’s practices, the second and third of camp.

“We tried to give Krysten a second chance, but he did not live up to the standards necessary to be a part of our program,” Georgia State coach Trent Miles said. “We wish him the best.”

Hammon started the first two games of the 2014 season before being suspended and then leaving the program.

He enrolled at Blinn Community College and then took a one-hour class at Kansas during the summer. He was in consistent communication with Miles, who decided within the past two weeks that he could return to the team.

Practice started Thursday. Hammon was gone by Saturday.

Even with Hammon’s dismissal and the decision of Demarcus Kirk to transfer, Georgia State is still fairly deep at running back with Kyler Neal, Kendrick Dorn, Marcus Caffey and Taz Bateman.
