After a dominant performance on the interior of the line, Georgia Tech defensive tackle Adam Gotsis was named the team’s defensive player of the week for his play in the Yellow Jackets’ win over Tulane Saturday. Gotsis tied his career high with six tackles, two of which were for loss.

The Tech defense limited Tulane to 3.8 yards per play and allowed two scoring drives in the Green Wave’s 12 possessions. Coaches also named A-back Qua Searcy and return specialist Jamal Golden as offensive and special-teams player of the week, respectively. Searcy scored two touchdowns, one a 13-yard run and the other a 17-yard pass reception. He averaged 7.4 yards per touch.

Golden returned one punt 44 yards, his second return of the season that went 35 yards or longer, and also ran back a kickoff after a safety 34 yards. Golden has 395 career punt return yards and can make Tech’s all-time top 10 in punt return yardage with 74 yards.

Tech, however, did not have a team member named an ACC player of the week for the second week in a row.
