Who: Clemson
When: 8 p.m. Saturday
TV; radio: ABC; 790 AM, 106.7 FM
Record: 8-0 overall, 5-0 ACC
Last time played: Clemson scored the first 17 points of the game en route to a 27-13 win at Memorial Stadium last October that ended the Tigers' four-game losing streak to Georgia Tech. Clemson running back Andre Ellington ran for 166 yards, then a career high, with touchdown runs of 55 and 42 yards.
Clemson on offense: The Tigers boast one of the fastest and most explosive set of skill players in the country, beginning with true freshman wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who is first in the ACC in catches per game with 6.8 and second in yards per game at 102.4. In his first year as a starter, quarterback Tajh Boyd has a 61.9 completion percentage and 24 touchdown passes, tied for the most in the country.
Clemson on defense: The Tigers are vulnerable to the run, giving up 169.4 yards per game. Clemson won its past two games easily, but still gave up 83 points combined. However, defensive end Andre Branch (eight sacks) and defensive tackle Brandon Thompson, a projected first-round pick, can cause considerable problems.
Clemson on special teams: Kicker Chandler Catanzaro has made 13 of 16 field-goal tries and is 5 for 7 from 40-49 yards. Watkins averages 27.9 yards on kickoff returns.
What you should know: Clemson's No. 5 BCS ranking is its highest in school history.
