After playing two seasons, Georgia Tech defensive end Kelton Dawson has entered the transfer portal. Dawson announced the decision Monday from his Twitter account. It was first reported earlier in the day by Rivals.

Dawson, from Stockbridge High, played in a total of 12 games in two seasons with a total of 27 tackles. Last season, he played in 10 games and started seven with 26 tackles – three for loss – two quarterback hurries and one forced fumble.

Dawson was a key part of the defensive end rotation for defensive coordinator Andrew Thacker. He was perhaps at his best against North Carolina, when he was credited with four solo tackles (tying his career high), two of them for loss (a career high), as well as a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry.

Dawson has two seasons of eligibility remaining. If he transfers to another FBS school, he would likely have to sit out a season and have one to play. If he were to transfer to an FCS school or a lower level, he could play immediately.
