HAMPTON, Va. -- The Georgia State Panthers pushed Hampton into overtime, but couldn't pull the upset, losing 60-56 Tuesday night at the HU Convocation Center.

The Panthers (2-3) held a 36-28 lead with 13:21 left to play, but lost control when Hampton (6-1) outscored them 16-4. Georgia State forced the overtime when Eric Buckner dunked with 17 seconds left in regulation play, but was outscored 11-7 in the extra session.

Darrion Pellum of Hampton led all scorers with 21 points, while Buckner topped the Panthers with 12.
