In the final cut, Georgia Tech forward Marcus Georges-Hunt did not make the U.S. under-19 men’s basketball team. Georges-Hunt was among the final four players cut as the 12-player roster was finalized late Monday.

The team will play in the under-19 world championships in Prague, Czech Republic beginning at the end of June. Georges-Hunt and fellow teammate Robert Carter were both invited to try out. Carter, who was playing with an infected cyst on his arm, was eliminated in the first round of cuts. Both players had sought to be the first Tech players to make the under-19 team since Mike Maddox in 1995.

Instead, both will spend the rest of summer on campus for classes and summer workouts.
