Georgia Tech freshman guard Michael Devoe injured the big toe on his right foot last week in practice and has been in a walking boot. The amount of time he will be sidelined is undetermined, but he will be in the walking boot for three more weeks.

Tech starts preseason practice next week. The Yellow Jackets’ first game is November 9 against Lamar.

Devoe is expected to play a large role as a freshman, a guard who can give the Jackets scoring punch. Being sidelined obviously delays his progress in learning Tech’s offensive and defensive systems and denies him the opportunity to learn his teammates.
