Following Georgia Tech’s Wednesday morning practice – completed in full pads and under conditions coach Paul Johnson described as “hot as (heck)” – the coach gave a passing grade to the efforts.

“I thought the energy was pretty good,” he said.

Left guard Trey Braun was out for the second consecutive day. Shamire Devine moved up to the first team. … The team practiced again in the afternoon in shoulder pads and helmets, the first double session of camp. The Yellow Jackets will have two more next week. … Tech will scrimmage Saturday morning in Bobby Dodd Stadium, starting at 9:30 a.m. The scrimmage is open only to season-ticket holders and players’ families.
