Former Georgia Tech star wide receiver Calvin Johnson is among the 75 players and six FBS coaches on the 2018 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, announced Thursday.

Johnson, the 2006 Biletnikoff Award winner and two-time First Team All-American, still holds six Tech records, including career touchdown receptions (28) and career receiving yards (2,927). He was a three-time First Team All-ACC pick, earning 2006 ACC Player of the Year and 2004 ACC Rookie of the Year honors.

Johnson, who retired from the NFL in 2016 after nine seasons, was inducted in the Yellow Jackets' Hall of Fame in October. He played high school football at Sandy Creek in Tyrone.

Johnson joins former Tech linebacker Marco Coleman on the ballot. Coleman first appeared on the college football ballot in 2012.

Coleman helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a share of the 1990 national championship and was named a first-team All-American in 1991. He ended his three-year career at Tech as the school’s all-time leader in sacks with 27.5 and tackles for loss with 50.

Former Tech star quarterback Joe Hamilton entered the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014. He was the 13th Tech player to be inducted and the first quarterback.

Voting for the ballot ends June 20. The 2018 class will be inducted during the 61st National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner Dec. 4, 2018, in New York. The inductees will be permanently enshrined at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta later that December.
