Georgia’s Anthony Edwards has been named the SEC’s Freshman of the Week for his three-game performance in the Maui Invitational, the league announced Monday.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound guard from Atlanta averaged 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, two blocks, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals against Dayton, No. 3 Michigan State and Chaminade.

Named to the all-tournament team, Edward netted 37 points against Michigan State — 33 in the second half alone. He scored 24 points in the win over Chaminade, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.6 of a second remaining.
