Mark Richt’s biggest victories
1. Oct. 6, 2001: Georgia 26, Tennessee 24. In Richt's first season in Athens, seventh-ranked Tennessee took a 24-20 lead with 44 seconds to play in hostile Knoxville. But Georgia freshman quarterback David Greene marched the Bulldogs down the field and tossed a short touchdown pass to fullback Verron Haynes with five seconds left to give Richt his first big win.
2. Oct. 27, 2007: Georgia 42, Florida 30. Richt allowed his entire team to celebrate in the end zone after scoring on its first series and the Bulldogs harassed Florida QB Tim Tebow all day. Knowshon Moreno rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns for Georgia.
3. Nov. 10, 2007: Georgia 45, Auburn 20. Richt used a motivational ploy again, this time letting his team wear black jerseys for the first time. Sanford Stadium went crazy and the Bulldogs piled up the points on the No. 18 Tigers.
4. Dec. 3, 2005: Georgia 34, LSU 14. Senior quarterback D.J. Shockley hung around at UGA until finally getting his chance in his last season. He responded by leading the Bulldogs to victory in the SEC championship game. It also gave Georgia revenge for a loss to LSU in the 2003 game.
5. Jan. 1, 2003: Georgia 26, Florida State 13. The Bulldogs made their first Sugar Bowl appearance since 1982 and David Pollack and the Bulldogs helped Richt beat his mentor Bobby Bowden. Musa Smith ran for 145 yards as Georgia won 13 games for the first time in school history.
Richt’s biggest losses
1. Sept. 28, 2008: Alabama 41, Georgia 30. Richt let the players wear black jerseys again but instead of leaving the field red and black, they were black and blue after being embarrassed by Alabama in Sanford Stadium. Georgia was rated No. 1 in the country by Sports Illustrated before the season but trailed 31-0 at halftime and it didn't even seem that close.
2. Oct. 31, 2015: Florida 27, Georgia 3. Richt chose to play his inexperienced third-string QB Faton Bauta the entire game and the result was four interceptions and a Halloween loss that perhaps sealed Richt's fate.
3. Dec. 31, 2010: Central Florida 10, Georgia 6. It was just the Liberty Bowl but the Bulldogs were not excited about being there and it showed. Richt's only losing season had a fitting end with a miserable performance against the team led by former Georgia Tech coach George O'Leary.
4. Nov. 1, 2014: Florida 38, Georgia 20. The ninth-ranked Bulldogs couldn't stop a Florida ground attack that amassed a staggering 424 yards against Jeremy Pruitt's defense. Florida, a 13-point underdog, won by 18.
5. Nov. 1, 2008: Florida 49, Georgia 10. Tebow played on a sprained ankle but he was still too much for Georgia. He accounted for five touchdowns and handed Richt his worst loss at Georgia.
