Behind Drameka Griggs’ 23 points, Clayton State defeated Limestone 87-65 Monday night to win the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at CSU’s Athletics and Fitness Center.

The Lakers (32-0) advanced to the national quarterfinals next week in San Antonio, Tex.

Clayton State broke away from a one-point game with a 23-10 run in the last 12 minutes of the first half for a 36-24 halftime lead and Limestone (27-3), limited to 36.7 percent shooting, could never catch up.

CSU forward Kayla Mobley added 17 points with 12 rebounds. Griggs, recently named the Southeast player of the year, also had five steals. Limestone’s Tia Williams scored a game-high 25.
