Georgia had its first off day in 10 days on Sunday. The Bulldogs crammed 12 practices into the first nine days of preseason camp.

"I think [the players] are tired," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "They've tried to push through it, but you can see the effects of camp starting to show with their energy level. That's when you've got to dig a little deeper. It's in the fourth quarter when you're a little fatigued that you've got to make a play."

Technically the "camp" part of preseason practices is over as fall semester classes begin on Monday. As a result, Georgia will resume its in-season practice routine, which is to practice every afternoon after classes.

The Bulldogs have just 20 days remaining to to utilize their remaining 17 practice opportunities before the Sept. 1 season opener against Buffalo. But Richt said they aren't anywhere close to implementing a game plan.

"Neither the offense or defense has moved into first-game mode yet," he said. "It's usually 8 or 10 practices out that we'll start getting into teamwork and focusing on that."
