Before Sunday’s kickoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns locked arms with local military men and women and law enforcement officials and stood for the playing of the national anthem.

The demonstration of solidarity comes after the Browns second exhibition game against the New York Giants on Aug. 21 when 11 players huddled on the sidelines in prayer during the playing of the national anthem. Some kneeled in a circle while others stood with their arms on their teammates’ shoulders as a sign of support.

According to Fox Sports, Browns players approached owner Jimmy Haslam over the past two weeks about ways to engage law enforcement and work to bring change to the Cleveland area.

The Browns (0-1) went on to lose Sunday’s game, 21-18.

Cleveland travels to Baltimore to play the Ravens at  1 p.m. Sunday.
