Hawks guard Trae Young and Jazz rookie Grayson Allen got into a brief shoving match during a summer league game on Thursday night.

During the third quarter Allen reached in as Young ripped the ball through from right to left. Allen grabbed Young’s arm as the Hawks point guard attempted to shoot the ball and earn free throws. Young took exception to the physical play and shoved Allen in the back, and Allen responded by ramming his left shoulder into Young’s body.

Game officials quickly separated Young and Allen. After reviewing video of the play, referees called a non-shooting foul against Allen and assessed technical fouls against Allen and Young.

Allen gained a reputation as a dirty player at Duke after he tripped opponents in three separate incidents. He was suspended indefinitely for the third incident and ended up sitting out one game.
