The Rockets and star guard James Harden sent the Hawks to their eighth consecutive loss with a 119-104 victory on Friday at Philips Arena.

Harden had 29 points and 11 assists for the Rockets (7-3). Houston led 36-25 after one quarter and extended the lead to 69-51 at halftime while making 11 of 22 three-point attempts.

The Hawks (1-8) couldn’t trim the deficit to less than 13 points in the second half. Kent Bazemore led the Hawks with 18 points.

The Hawks’ eight-game losing streak is the longest since they also lost eight in a row during the 2013-14 season, Mike Budenholzer’s first as the head coach. The Hawks had two losing streaks of seven games last season.
