The Hawks waived C.J. Anderson, R.J. Hunter and Thomas Robinson on Saturday.

The moves brings the roster to 17 players, which includes the two-way contracts of Jaylen Adams and Alex Poythress. The team can have a maximum of 15 players on the roster, so Adams and Poythress will be sent to the team’s G League affiliate in Erie, Pa., when the league begins. Any of the three waived players could end up in Erie.

Robinson signed with the Hawks on Aug. 30. He appeared in three exhibition games this preseason and averaged 3.3 points in 5.7 minutes.

Hunter, a former Georgia State standout, signed with the Hawks on Sept. 7. He appeared in three exhibition games and averaged just 0.7 points in 4.3 minutes.

Anderson signed with the Hawks last week. He did not appear in an exhibition game. The Hawks will hold his G League rights.

The Hawks open the regular season Wednesday at the Knicks, the first of a three-game road trip. The home opener in Oct. 24 against the Mavericks.
