The Hawks upgraded Tiago Splitter to questionable on the team’s injury report prior to Friday’s game against the Lakers.

The reserve center has missed the past six games with a sore right hip. Splitter will be active against the Lakers, with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Edy Tavares on NBA Development League assignment, but likely won’t play.

When asked the status of his injury while leaving morning shootaround, Splitter told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution “Better.”

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer would not say whether Splitter would be available on in an emergency. The Hawks are down one center with Tavares on assignment.

“We’ll see how he’s feeling and take it from there,” Budenholzer said.

The Hawks continue to list Kyle Korver (ankle rehabilitation), Thabo Sefolsoha (ankle rehabilitation), Kent Bazemore (right ankle sprain) and Jeff Teague (left ankle sprain) as probable.
