The Hawks on Monday signed swingman Damion Lee for the remainder of the season. Lee had played for the Hawks on two 10-day contracts, the maximum allowed by NBA rule.

Lee, 25, made his NBA debut with the Hawks on March 13. He’s played in 10 games (seven starts) with averages of 26 minutes, 9.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals.

Lee was in the G League when the Hawks signed him following several injuries to players at the wing positions. Following the Hawks’ victory over the Magic on Sunday, Lee said he wasn’t sure if the Hawks would retain him for the final five games.

“First and foremost I want to thank the Hawks for taking a chance on me with these two 10-days,” Lee said. “For me it’s just going out and continuing to play confident and show that I belong in this league.”
