The Hawks finished the season tied for third in the NBA draft lottery standings.

The Hawks (24-58) lost to the Sixers on Tuesday and the Mavericks (24-58) lost to the Suns. The Magic (24-57) also would tie for the NBA’s third-worst record if they lose at home on Wednesday to the Wizards.

The Suns (20-62) finished with the worst record in the league and thus will have the best odds (25 percent) to win the weighted lottery. The Grizzlies (22-59) will finish with the second-worst record and have a roughly 19.9 percent chance to win the lottery.

The Hawks also will acquire Minnesota’s first-round pick if the Timberwolves qualify for the playoffs. They would do so with a victory over the Nuggets on Wednesday.

If the Hawks and Mavericks finish in a two-way tie for third, each team will have about a 13.8 percent chance of winning the top pick. If there is a three-way tie with those two teams and the Magic, each team would have about a 12.1 percent chance of winning the lottery.

The lottery is used to determine the top three picks, with the remaining lottery teams selecting in reverse order of record. In the event of a two-way tie, a coin flip determines the pick order. In the event of a three-way tie, a drawing of ping-pong balls determines the order.
