The Hawks made it interesting.

Still, they came away with their first victory in the Las Vegas Summer League with a a 68-65 win over the Warriors Wednesday. The Hawks (1-3) stay in the winner’s bracket of the tournament and will play the Trail Blazers Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Warriors (2-2) conclude their tournament with a consolation game Friday.

The No. 6 Trail Blazers drubbed the Hawks, 91-76, in the final game of the preliminary round Tuesday.

The No. 22 Hawks held a 12-point lead going into the final quarter. The No. 11 Warriors cut their deficit to one point, 66-65, with 41.4 seconds left. James McAdoo had a chance to put the Warriors ahead but missed two free throws. Trevor Releford made two free throws with 5.3 seconds left to clinch the victory for the Hawks.

Dennis Schroder led the Hawks with a game-high 17 points. Mike Muscala and Releford added 14 points apiece and Adreian Payne finished with 10 points.

John Jenkins did not play in the second of a back-to-back game as he returns from back surgery.
