The Hawks had several trade conversations on draft night, according the general manager Danny Ferry. However, the Hawks held on to the 15th overall pick in the first round of Thursday’s NBA Draft and selected forward Adreian Payne.

“We had conversations to move back, we had conversations to move up,” Ferry said late Thursday following the draft. “At the end of the day, as it evolved and all the opportunities came through, we felt like the best thing was to take the (first-round) pick and we are excited.”
